What should I wear?
Normal clothes can be worn, preferably not garments that are too tight or restrictive.
Can I bring a friend or relative?
Of course – if you wish, you can have someone present throughout your consultation and treatment. Children under sixteen years of age need to have a parent/guardian present throughout the session.
Does it hurt?
Some soft tissue treatment may cause mild discomfort during treatment. Your osteopath will tell you what to expect, and will want you to let them know if you are in pain. You may feel a little stiff or sore after treatment. This is a normal, healthy response to the treatment.
Do I need to see my doctor first?
Although referral by a doctor is not necessary, patients are encouraged to keep both their doctor and osteopath fully informed, so that their medical records are kept current and complete and the patient receives the best possible care from both healthcare practitioners. Osteopaths are skilled in diagnostic techniques and trained to identify when a patient needs to be referred to a doctor.
How long will my appointment take?
The first and subsequent treatments tend to last around 30minutes. Osteopaths also offer added exercises and health advice, to help reduce the symptoms and improve your health and quality of health.
How much does treatment cost?
Our prices are € 55 for the session .
Will my insurance cover osteopathy?
If you have private health care insurance it may be possible for you to claim for your treatment. You will need to ask your insurance company about the available level of coverage and whether you need to be referred by your doctor or a specialist.
